Message: <blockquote data-quote="ttocs" data-source="post: 1534610" data-attributes="member: 11896">in time they will be but it is just all new technology that requires a change to everything from how homes are wired up to be able to charge them(even though they do not recommend charging inside the house <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite1" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":)" /> ) to how fire depts respond to their fires.  In the end there are less moving parts and they could be as reliable as modern ice cars.So far I have only two friends that got electric cars.  My one friend got a Nissan leaf and had it for almost two months before one day he was driving it and it came up with some warning saying to take it to the dealer NOW.  So he did, shut it off and then it would not turn on.  Then they either didn't know what was wrong, it might have been because of availability of parts(this was during the pandemic shortages) or something else but they had the car for the next 3 months so he lemon lawed it.  Another friend got a tesla and I am still waiting for his long term report.  I just don't understand how it is going to work when our nearest dealer is 3 hours away.  He said when something is wrong he just calls them and they will send a guy/van.  I just have to wonder how many parts he has in the van, how quick they can actually dispatch someone and in the end how long/how much a simple repair will cost the company under warranty, or the customer in the end with a 6 hour round trip for the tech?</blockquote>
