The Mustang dyno will give you a 10 - 12 percent lower result than any Dyno Jet. When I was in San Diego, CA I used to tune for JBA Racing. We would have dyno days all the time. Some of the guys right after their tuning session would run down the road to The Dyno Shop, about 10 miles away and have them make a couple pulls on the Dyno Jet dyno to see the higher numbers. They did this because they wanted a good tune and the dyno at JBA was a Dynamic Dyno, similar to a Mustang dyno, so they would get the good tune and then run to the other shop to get the higher numbers on a print out so they could post them up. Also he's correct in the fact that you don't have anything really special that would produce higher numbers. Now for the gearing, they should have locked the trans in 3rd gear and the TC when they made your pulls. If it was done in any other gear then you numbers will be off. The rear gears have nothing to do with hp. Also, an auto trans will rob you anywhere from 30 - 60 hp depending on the type of trans and condition. If you are actually running 11 plus compression your timing of 20 is pretty close also. I've been able to get more in some vehicles and then in others less. You can't just say because one vehicle runs 24 that all the others with the same combination should run it also.</blockquote>
