We started to check out the gt and it had 3.73's, 6-speed manual, brembo's, 19'' wheels, comfort package, and a glass roof.
So on the way to breakfast yesterday, my dad and I decided to stop by our local ford dealership to check out their inventory. They had a few ecoboosts, a black/black gt500 vert with the svt package, and a white 2011 gt with a 40k sticker. We started to check out the gt and it had 3.73's, 6-speed manual, brembo's, 19'' wheels, comfort package, and a glass roof. While we were checking it out, a saleswoman comes out and opens everything up, we sat in it, etc. She then asks me if I wanted to drive it (I just turned 17) with her in the car and of course I said yes lol. So we made an appointment to drive it later and went to breakfast. We get back to the dealership after breakfast about 1/2 hour before our appointment. She is busy so another salesman helps us. He then proceeds to tell me I can't drive it because of my Junior Operator's license. However, my dad can drive it. Because we were early, they told us we could just take it ourselves with no salesman. So we drive it off the lot, and boom we are both hooked on the car. Despite the high revving v8, it still produced awesome tq down low and sounds great doing so. So, we turn on to an on ramp, grips extremely well, and jump on it, and compared to our ancient 5.0 kenne bell pushrod, this engine actually revs past 4500 rpm. In fact, that 7100 rpm rev limiter allows the car to pull for a very long time. The car never runs out of power until the limiter. The transmission and clutch feel solid, I love the seating position and visibility, sound, ease to drive, and the ability to be an awesome DD/track car. And the best part? The glass roof. Yeah, I said it. The glass roof makes the car. Also, those brembo's work extremely well at stopping the 36xx pound car. Ultimately, I loved this thing and do not really have anything negative to say about it. I know, for 40k, you can buy a base boss, used gt500, etc. but this GT has all of the great options that make the car. So, comments, questions, etc. Thanks for reading.
