Climate? Double check for leaks while it's idling. Your using more synthetic because the molecules in synthetic are all more uniform in size when compared to conventional oils. You might consider going back to a conventional or a synthetic blend oil like Motorcraft. That can slow your oil consumption some. If your in a colder climate use a 5W-30 and switch to a 10W-30 for the summer months. This will also slow the oil consumption in the warmer months. Your still gonna need the 5 weight in the winter so the oil pressure will build up quicker at start-up. Saves the rings. Depending on what kind of #'s you get on the compression check (3 times / cyl.), try some Restore. Good for the cylinder walls.Good Luck,  GT</blockquote>
