Hey guys I have a 1994 base with a 7.5 rear end and I bought a 8.8 rear end from a 1995 (I think). I finished rebuilding the rear end and I was about to swap it when I realized that the brake lines were very different. Do you guys know how to do the swap correctly with the brake lines ? My 1994 7.5 has a soft line from the body which connects to hard a line at the vent cap but the 1995 8.8 doesn't have that attachment.

Is there a kit or adapter I can get for the brake lines ? So I find 1995 specific brake lines ? Also when I look up videos online it seems that the 1996+ have soft lines that connect directly to the calipers. Is it possible to swap to that system as it seems more convenient.

I thought the swap was a direct bolt in but now I'm really struggling, help would be greatly appreciated! I attached the picture of my 7.5 and the 8.8 (in black)

Thanks!

On the 8.8, that 'y-block' is on a bracket that is mounted with a bolt through the differential casing.

Here's a couple pictures of the lines-l1600.jpg.

They both serve the same purpose just a different location. The only difference may be fitting size as i am not familiar with the size of lines and fittings they used on that year 7.5.
If brake line size and fittings are the same you could use either.
Also you would be able to reuse the hardlines from the y block to calipers.

I think I might source that bracket and 8.8 hardlines. The issue is that the soft line connects on the passenger side on my car and above the diff on 8.8 cars.

After a lot of digging I found that LMR sells a conversion kit for fox body 7.5 to 8.8 that moves the brake soft line, have that bracket and all the 8.8 hard lines. It just seems pretty involved to install.
