Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mustang5L5" data-source="post: 1587685" data-attributes="member: 30520">The rear two amps on the convertibles are prone to getting water dripping on them.  When this happens a component shorts and they are a power drain.   You can do a simple parasitic draw test to confirm.On mine, one of my amps was junk.  Quick inspect opening it up and found the culprit.[ATTACH=full]49798[/ATTACH][ATTACH=full]49799[/ATTACH]I found a replacement amp onebay for cheap and just swapped it and everything was good as new.I did end up replacing the headunit just to get a carplay touchscreen in.  Kenwood DMX0809S.  It does come with an internal EQ so i was able to set this up pretty well so that sound quality is pretty good.  Mine is a convertible as well and cruising around at 60-70MPh with it blasting it's not that bad.  I kept the original speakers and amps and on;y changed the head unit.The way the 01-04 Mach setup is that the head unit contains an internal amp that powers only the 4 high speakers.  The ones in the doors near the mirrors and the top speaker in the rear panels.The two amps in the rear do the main speakers.  One amp does both doors and the other amp does the rear lower speakers.I went this route.
