Some scares and some progress today... Went to the library with my girlfriend this morning and while trying to look for books on custom interior and fiberglass work i spied an old "The best of HOT ROD magazine vol 6" I open it up and flip though and what do you know... TFS / KPI hiports... a head with BASICALLY NO data online for. So i start reading... Hmmm looks familiar: Cut away views show huge ports... Flow data... Dyno data: Then i read uses 1/2'' head bolts... must retap block... SO i panic... knowing that i used stock 7/16'' bolts... and i sort of remembered some sort of washers... so i started looking and couldn't find anything showing that i did the right thing. So i panicked some more and went to work on the car with chris. By the time i got there chris had already had the inside of the car apart and the vert top cylinder in. So he finished refilling the system and the top works like new! Then we got it on the lift and since chris noticed the day before that the rear brake lines were a little iffy i came prepared to make some new lines... Little did i know chris being the nice guy had bought rear soft lines for me and wont tell me what he paid... :( I had my SS line from my front kit still sitting... As you can see rusty crap: So i ran to autozone and bought a 6ft of 3/16'' lines... came back and started bending... Chris finished up and we moved on to the line lock up front. We finished up with the line lock and bled the brakes and now there is no leaks and the system is solid! So since we still have a little time chris rebalanced the front tires since the car has been sitting and we washed and vac'd out the car again. Chris drove it back to his house and the brakes work nicely! SO i start panicing about the head bolt issue and find a pic of the heads after they were just rebuilt.. Looks like the spacers are there to me... So chris went out to look only to find.... some green under the head bolt... (the spacers are on the bottom bolts!) Upon reading i guess i needed to put rtv on the bolts because they go in to the water jackets... BLAH
