[QUOTE="ttocs, post: 1413925, member: 11896"] is this on the 2001? My 94 has a ignition noise reducing cap that is clipped to the back of my coil with a single wire going into the harness. I know when they go bad it can be surprising how much noise can get in. now for the cutting in/out sounds like a short somewhere. The way I used to find these was just to turn the stereo on and then get a little mean with all the wiring going to the components. Grab it, pull it, twist it, tug it and see if you can find a spot that when you do you recreate the problem. After that you should be able to narrow the problem down and possibly find the bad wire. Don't get afraid to get a little rough with them as they should be able to take a good pull with out coming apart and if they do then they were not tight enough. If none of that shows anything then move on to technical taps on the gear. Again power it up and start at the deck and work your way back. Use your fingertips first to lightly tap on the corners/sides/back and again see if you can get it to make the same problem. If nothing changes then go and use a little more force with your knuckles now. If still nothing shows up then move to the amp under the deck and any in the trunk for the same routine to see if you find the bad spot. I know it sounds funny but true story its one of the best lessons I ever learned in tech school(first semester) and you would be amazed how many stereos I have trouble shot this way all the way up to multi-million dollar machines in intels fabrication area.
