MSD wires, K&N intake & edelbrock mufflers. The car is missing pretty violently under load (undrivable in 5th gear). The vehicle is a 5spd with 162,000KM on the clock (i purchased at around 110,000 with msd wires & k&n installed.... unknown amount of KM on both.)upon pulling cylinder #2 plug i found the tube to have a fair amount of oil residing inside (maybe half way up the plug), i assume this to be a leaking V/c gasket? i removed all oil from the tube and cleaned the plug boot. I was hoping this would be the fix... however it was not <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite3" alt=":(" title="Frown    :(" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":(" />, the car was missing just as bad.... bad enough to cause the CEL to flash.Next step was the coil pack, i "snaked" a coil pack from my 96 cobra (gatta love owning 2 mustangs) and upon removing the GT's coil pack i noticed severe cracks on all 4 corners of it, i bieleve this to be the aftermath of some nasty arching?. Anyways i installed the borrowed coil pack and went for another run... the vehicle is not missing nearly as hard, not enough to throw a CEL. the missing is now more noticable in the upper RPM range... maybe 3-5k rpm?I then tested resistance of the msd wires, #2 was showing 132 and #6 (same length wire) was showing 130. only other thing worth mentioning is that it has been raining all week here in Calgary, however i noticed no moisture in the ignition system.
