At my work we offer nason and dupont paint. Nason which is a cheaper line only comes in the most popular alternate for the paint code. So if there are 5 alt the one that belongs to the majority is what we have the mix ratio for. But now in dupont we have what is called a vindicator program where i can enter the cars vin after the paint code and it will pic the proper alternate for that car.
