So now that I've gotten my car running and been able to start putting some miles on it, I've been thinking a lot about where to go from here. I would like to do a few upgrades over the winter and try to get the car ready to hit the track next spring. Here's a basic rundown of the setup on the car then I'll break it down into categories I'm looking for direction on where to go. 1994 GT. N/A 347, T5 w/McLeod Street Extreme clutch, stock driveshaft, 8.8 axle, stock carrier (with new clutches) and axles, 3.73 gears. MM extreme duty rear lower control arms, aftermarket tubular uppers, Strange 10-way adjustable shocks. MM subframe connectors, Full MM front suspension, MM coilovers on Strange 10-way adjustable struts with 10" 325# springs. Engine & Fuel: Currently I'm running 24# injectors on stock rails and factory fuel lines. I plan on getting a set of Siemens Deka 60's as soon as they become available again and I'm considering doing a complete fuel system upgrade at the same time. I already have a set of Aeromotive rails, would just need a new regulator and feed and return hoses to run back to the tank but what about fuel pump and hanger? I have a Walbro 255 now, would I be better off with something like an Aeromotive 340 and a new hat with AN fittings? What size hoses should I run for supply and return? I also have an MSD 6AL2 box that I will be installing pretty soon. Exhaust: The exhaust now is BBK 1 5/8 longtubes, BBK O/R X pipe and magnapack mufflers. I have a 3" builder kit I've been hanging onto for a special occasion and would like to try some new mufflers out, would the swap from 2.5" to 3" exhaust be very beneficial or should I just build a new muffler setup for the 2.5" X pipe I have now? Transmission: I know the T5 isn't gonna last long if I get serious about racing. Will probably look into a TKX swap when the T5 bites the dust. Maybe a lightweight flywheel and aluminum driveshaft at the same time. Suspension: I want to keep my (front) springs I have now for street driving but also want to have a set that I could swap out before going to the track, if that's even that necessary. What front springs would be the best for drag racing? 14/175, 14/150? Also have considered ditching my sportline springs and going with coil overs on the rear also, would a rear coilover setup be better or should I just swap to a different stock style coil spring in the rear. My rear lowers are not adjustable either, kinda wish I had gotten the set with adjustable spring perches. Any other rear suspension upgrades I should look into like panhard bar/torque arm or anti-roll bar? At this point should I also be looking at reinforcing my torque boxes? Interior: Would like to add an MM rollbar for safety. Tires/wheels: I'll eventually invest in a drag setup, 17" front and 15" rear. What rear tires do y'all recommend for a stick shift car? I want to hear your thoughts and input on my plans. Do you think I have a pretty solid list of upgrades? Anything you guys would suggest that I didn't mention?
