[QUOTE="sn95gtvert, post: 753610, member: 11975"] so my car started being a pile, ran the koeo koer tests and found it to be a bad ect sensor. at the same time i replaced my alt (it was putting out over 20volts) witch i think is what killed my ect sensor. checked all my plug wires and coil wire. replaced my valve cover to intake vacuum tube, along with my pcv vac lines and i torqued my lower intake. i installed it about 5k miles ago and figured it couldn't hurt. every single bolt had backed off a bit so good thing i did it. also my tps voltage was at .81 so i set it at .98 now the car runs tons better. my total cost was about $12 (the alt was a warranty replacement, napa seems to only have alts that work for about a year) my coil wire has some crap in the coil end of it. and my #1 and #2 cylinder wires are a bit low on an ohms scale so a plug wire set is soon to come. tip #1 re-torque your intake if you have replaced it (just like you would do with headers) tip #2 the ect sensor will make your car flip a female dog if it goes out, mine was reading above max volts and my car would rarely start cold never hot and when it would run it sounded like it was on 5 cylinders. tip #3 setting the tps makes a big difference, no more hanging idle and it picked up some top end now that it has full sweep. tip #4 CHECK YOUR FUEL LINES!!!!! sorry for yelling but when i had my upper intake off the other day i noticed that the factory plastic fuel line clamps where the rail meets the line had broke and failed. now i did not find any raw fuel on my motor but both lines were loose, i could take them off with very very little effort. few small hose clamps fixed this but to others please dont overlook that. those stock plastic clips are very weak and break easy. better safe then sorry!!
