[QUOTE="9838stang, post: 1029348, member: 13575"] To JB, the black "foam/rubber piece that goes over the rear seat back rest, is what ford calls a head rest for the rear passenegers. On my car, the rear " head rest" that sits over the rear seat, the tabs for that are broken. The rear seat, when i first bought the car, would fold down when i hit the brakes hard and the head rest would shoot forward and hit the driver and passenger seats. So to fix that my uncle and i removed the latches on frame for the seats the actual tabs on the frame work for the seats, we took off and moved them up i believe. now they work great. they no longer fall forward. but since the begining, I have noticed that the head rest has always sat way to high on the rear seats. the seats also are about 1 to 1.5 inches to high. I have taken the frame work out about 2 weeks ago and tried to lower them but with out success. all of the bolts are in the correct locations, sorta. the bolt that hold the head rest are no longer there, but there are sheet metal screws there that pretty much keep it all in place... the lower bolts for the frame work are there are in the correct location.
