Today I was changing the motor mount, and I figured that since I'm down there, might as well try to swap the steering shaft. I've got two spares anyway, so why not. Sure enough, slightly used steering shaft was exactly what the doctor prescribed. I only found the cracks in the old one when I took a look at it off the car. I'll probably get a solid MM piece later, since it's not a pressing issue.</blockquote>
