Message: <blockquote data-quote="ttocs" data-source="post: 1042462" data-attributes="member: 11896">been to 3 Gi specialists including a 3 yr work up at the mayo clinic which is supposed to be the best/brightest.  Can't tell you how disaapointing it was to have the first 2 give up saying they didn't know what else to test and that maybe I should try mayo.  Went to mayo and then was 3x as disappointed to hear them say they didn't know either and its probably something I will have to learn to live with.  Been scoped from top to bottom literally with countless endoscopies, colonoscopies and even and encapsullated endoscopy where I swallowed a pill with a camera in it.  They took out my gall bladder and appendix saying it would fix it and it made it worse.  I use to keep a shoebox full of all my old perscription bottles just so I could keep track of what I had taken and what didn't work.  I am extremely sensative to lactose and if you didn't know it %90 of pills have lactose in them as a filler/binder.  So that means most of the medicine they have given me, actually made me sicker. Taken countless tests and hoped to fail them all just to figure it out.  I realized how messed up I had become about 2 yrs ago when the transport person at the hospital took me down to a test for some kind of cancer.  As he walked off he wished me luck and it was at that point I could not figure out if that meant good luck they find out whats wrong and its cancer or good luck you don't have cancer............  I gave up looking for what it was and hoping it could be fixed years ago as I was just tired of the disappointment.  I honestly do not like the person I have become from this but its not up to me.  I use to be an optimist, did high school mentoring at my job and even had 4 different people thank me and tell me that I was the dude that convinced them to do more with their lives and go back to school.  Use to say that if you didn't like something about yourself to change it.  Now I say to keep your expectations down and you will not be as disappointed.  But it is what it is, I just deal with it.  I would say I take it day-by-day but its closer to hour-by-hour.  I just never know when what I think is a good day will suddenly go bad.  Thankfully I have a great family that I can lean on when i need it, they are a real blessing that I am thankfull for.Thanks for the thoughts and prayers fellas</blockquote>
