Since those are a direct replacement for 96-98 tail lights, the 96-98 harnesses will plug right into those housings.I can't speak for how plug-n-play kits work because I've never used one.As for the non plug-n-play one I posted: in the case of the 94-95 harnesses, the kit may work but the lights obviously will be going up or down depending on the order you install the kit. I have a feeling you're asking about how it'll work with the 96-98s. The actual kit pieces are red, not beige, because they are for a different gauge of wire. When you read the directions, you'll see these pieces do all the actual "splicing" for you.
