This is for anyone who is considering doing a T-56 swap in their 94-95, here is a chart to show you the differences in the Cobra T-56 vs the Viper T-56 and what you will need to swap out your T-5 to the Monster T-56. TORQUE RANGE DRY WEIGHT SPLINE DATA GEAR RATIO CHART MODEL (lb. ft.) lbs. Input Output 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th Rev COBRA 1386-000-012 400 lb. ft. 115-129 lbs. 10T 31T 2.97 2.07 1.43 1.00 .80 .62 3.28 VIPER 1386-000-018 450 lb. ft. 115-129 lbs. 26T 30T 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 .74 .50 2.90 COBRA overall length [in MM] 840.0 VIPER overall length [in MM] 818.7 COBRA bellhousing length [in MM] 135.0 VIPER bellhousing length [in MM] 129.0 Ford racing aluminum driveshaft shortened by machine shop up to 2 inches, depending on cobra/viper spec Stock clutch Stock shift fork, T-5 Aftermarket Xmember moved backwards 1.5 inches They say you can use your stock Xmember but i couldnt get it to work. AMP Performance/DD/Summit all sells adjustable xmembers for this swap for under 150 bucks. New Bellhousing for 5.0/5.8. Reverse lockout harness wired into your brake light relay the stock shifter on the T-56 is pretty short, however you can get a pro 5.0 or a Tri-Ax as well and they are nice. i have the Tri-Ax and i love it. that is basically it, the viper spec trannies are more expensive, due to them supposedly being able to handle more Tourqe, but there are many guys out there who are running 500+ hp mustangs with T-56's The warranty from Tremec is decent, they give you a 180 day warranty from the day of intall/purchase that replaces anything. From my understanding is you take it to a mechanic, preferably a ford dealership and they service/diagnose then send the bill directly to Tremec. Not a bad deal eh? Overall this is a great swap, and the DIYer can do it in a weekend with some help from a friend. Feel free to add anything that i have missed :happydrunks: You can get complete swap kits including all the above parts from DD performance, AMP performance and TTC automotive, which is the easiest way to go. Unless you find that awesome craigslist deal on a tranny and want to get everything seperate.
