When I got my transmission rebuilt several months ago, I went to put the tranny back in and everything went fine until I got to the shifter. I got a new MGW shifter and when I was trying to install it, I couldn't get the bolts in because the tranny was about an inch too far forward which put the base of the shifter too close to the sheet metal. Soo, being impatient, I just bent the metal up a bit around the bolts and threw it together. One thing I wasn't able to fix was the inner shift boot, but that's irrelevant at this point. Finally, my question is, how in the world could the tranny have moved an inch forward? I thought maybe the motor mounts were real worn out and while stabbing the tranny it scooted forward but my dad said that's not really plausible. I'm really kind of baffled by it. I don't think it's possible that it has the wrong bellhousing lol. Any thoughts? I'll take pics if you guys wanna see. :confused1:</p></blockquote><p></p>
