It just doesn't specify which bearings. "The whine is a sign it is dying and needs bearings. 1st-3rd the power goes from input down to countershaft and up to the output shaft, So if there is a bearing problem it shows up in 1-3rd gears and 4th is alway quiet because it couples the input to the output shaft taking the load off of the bearings. eventually the bearings get worse and the cluster moves futher away from the countershaft under power till it breaks. I've helped the whine in some T5's by mixing a 50/50 mix of tranny fluid and gear oil 80/90wt"</blockquote>
