Message: <blockquote data-quote="ttocs" data-source="post: 965975" data-attributes="member: 11896">by swapping even just the crank pulley, you will also slow anything down that is attached to it.  When this happens the alt also slows down puts out less voltage and also does not cool itself as well and leads to overheating and failing of the regulator.  Because th ealt puts out less voltage then it should now when idleing you can also mess a battery up from it.  You will not notice any gain in performance but you will notice at night that you lights dim and the voltage gauge is just barely working.  Later when you start to add some reall add-ons you will want to ensure that everything is operating the way it was designed too, would you really want the cooling system slowed down after installing heads/cam?  I had underdrives for maybe 8 months.  Only good thing about them was that I bought them used and was able to sell them for the same price to another sucker.  I have NEVER thought once since then, man I wish I had those.....  Save your money.....</blockquote>
