I used to live in this one massively huge neighborhood, which was built in phases. The last phase bordered a shooting range. The place looked like two truck trailers bumped up together. They ended up building a third (yes, this place had three!) elementary school near it, and several houses as a buffer, with about 6 along its border. The range’s building is only a few feet from their fence. But hey, short walk to school. It’s obvious what the place is, so you can’t act like you didn’t know, but somehow the place thrives. I think the reason why is because that’s technically a different town. You wouldn’t have town citizens complain about the place, you’d have citizens from somewhere else, who have no voting leverage. There’s something similar with a neighborhood that borders a dump. Different town. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want to live there either, but it is Texas. Do your research before you buy and don’t be upset that 100 feet away they’re shooting firearms and that 2,000 feet away they’re drilling for natural gas. I’ve seen mineral rights completely devalue themselves, and tons of tax payer money wasted on court cases regarding this issue alone. Google maps exist for a reason. It takes two seconds to see who your future neighbors are going to be. ...well, ain’t that nice. A green belt. Why would houses that back up to a green belt be cheaper than all the others?... ...why is it shaped like it could one day be a very important road one day? Just recently looked up Green Valley Race City. Place was developed in 2006. I think the aerial is from 2019. 13 years have gone by. No one in these $500,000 homes have asked what’s going on in the grassway?
