he is 4 yrs older but he is just one of those guys that does not want to be happy and has just given up trying and would rather find a reason to complain about. You can always find a reason if you want one. For years I have been fighting the urge to say hello to him like the secretary in ferris buehlers day off "Well hello and who is bothering you now? if he could just be a little help from time to time instead of just adding drama(always upset) and just creating more work for us cooking for him for him it might help. The few times we were in a bit of a crunch and dad/I needed to leave at the same time and asked if he could come by to help watch mom he was too inebriated to make the 4 min drive, and too lazy to walk the 15 mins it would take. But then again it was 11 am I mean what can you expect? He only works 4 days a week so it isn't like he is working 70 hrs a week and too tired to contribute. Just too lazy. The first few months we were happy to have him over for dinner but it got annoying to watch him come by for 20-30 mins, finish eating and then take off. Dad has cut back to 2 nights a week at most and that is the time I get to use to get out of the house and have 2 people here to help mom if needed, and if he sticks around.
