Message: <blockquote data-quote="shovel" data-source="post: 1590438" data-attributes="member: 29855"><p>It blew the fitting off the rack end.    The crimp shell around the hose is steel & I expected that to be plenty.  I figure that my best bet is to just bring the hose to a hydraulic shop locally and ask them to build me one that's rated for the impulse load of hitting the steering stop.  For the sake of clearance and having the hose routed cleanly I need a 45 degree 6AN at the rack end which limits some of my off-the-shelf options, particularly when I also need it to be 19-20 inches to avoid having a bunch of random spaghetti down there.   I had a spare 24" hose (same grade as the one that failed) and installed that just for the time being and it looks goofy with even just the extra 4"  because the teflon/braided hose isn't very flexible.</p></blockquote><p></p>
