It seems in the US now that most everyone does not want anyone to get ahead of them on the road, whether it is merging onto the highway or someone else that needs to get into the turning lane. They ride up on you or accelerate so that you don't get ahead of them, even if maintaining their speed would have left you ample room to get in lane. Realize this (whether it is due to some kind of competitiveness or need to feel superior) and let the ass do whatever they are going to do. When merging onto the highway realize that there is usually more room behind that other car than in front of it. Think about what I mean by that one for a second. In your specific case that you wrote about here you pulled up to the pizza shop and the truck went over to some other store. As far as I was concerned it was all over right there. When you drove over to the truck what were you looking to accomplish that would improve the situation, since letting it be done was not sufficient? What were you going to do if some burley guy got out and pulled a gun on you fearing what you were going to do since you made a special effort to drive up to him? Life is complicated enough and too short to let our egos put us into potentially dangerous situations that can be avoided. When this kind of thing happens make your "What an ass" comment, realize checking your blind spot really does work, and feel superior because you are a better driver than that person. The pizza will taste better that way too. :thumb: Steve
