You need to have the damages assesed and then go from there. Personally, I wouldnt spend more than a 3'rd of what I paid for the car to fix it. For example take my car, I paid 5,400 4 years ago with 85kmiles. Over the course of those years I have out about 3 grand into the car fixing/upgrading things. The car now has an unofficial 170k(because of gears and no speedcal) been through 2 rears, 2 clutch's, 2 strut and shock/spring combos and I am forced to putt around in her for the winter becasue its my DD. I'm tired of spending money on the car and since things are starting to wear out again I'm going to cut my losses, sell it for less than half of what I paid and start fresh with something else...more likely something thats more comfortable as a DD.</blockquote>
