2 valve to 4 valve

So how in depth is the 4.6 4 valve swap?
What all has to be changed? I priced out the twisted wedge kit for the 2 valve, might be able to swap a 4 valve for the money not sure if its worth it? What say you my modular brethren? Edit * 5.4 4 valve also theres a few available to me.

John did it in his 98. There isn’t much really. Some wiring needs to be extended, sensors might be different, different vacuum lines/routing… it’s not hard though.

The 5.4 4v is badass but a tight fit in these cars. You’ll probably need a different hood because you’ll need to run a coyote boss intake which has the throttle body up front causing interference. And I think you’ll have to relocate the alternator.

With the boss intake, I THINK the alternator will fit under it in stock location. I am going to try to run mine there on my f100.

This sounds like an awesome swap I bet it will run strong. Should I use a similar year Navigator engine? Also I should probably just get the whole harness and ecu as well I am assuming?

the navigator has a bit different set up
if you are installing in a merc that's great parts will match
but to a mustang a bit different

The navigator specific heads have larger intake ports that dont fare together well with any of the intake solutions other than the 5.4l dohc sullivan intake

Just to fit the intake. You’ll still need little things here and there and extend your harness.

The harness probably won’t work and neither will the ecu. You can reuse your harness and get a tune. Also you will have to reverse the polarity to the cops for them to work.

Even if you want to rebuild or refreshing up
Trying to find parts individually will take a while
But most of the time
Leon at MPS can get complete engines in good shape
Tom at prestige mustang can also get complete engines
This way all parts are there

Tried to look up mps, all I found was motorcycle parts? Is mps the full name ?
