94-95 Alternator Hook Up with Aftermarket Dash (Holley, Tinker, etc.)

If you are installing an aftermarket dash in your 94-95 Mustang (Holley, Tinker, etc.) and still have the factory alternator you will need to clip and connect a couple wires from the factory cluster harness in order for the alternator to work. Below is a diagram outlining the process. This works with other year model mustangs as well, but you will need to reference the wiring diagram specific to your year model.

Good info! I had to locate this info when I swapped my 98 to megasquirt. This is because you are removing the charge indicator and the excite circuit to turn on the alternator is no longer there.

We have even seen a few cars that quit charging because the bulb burnt out.
