So I have a question for 94/98 Mustang owners and I’m really hoping to get some encouraging feedback from you guys. I have a 94 Cobra with 18 inch aftermarket wheels, 18/8.5 up front and 18/10.5 in back and they are non staggered, I’m currently running a 285/35/18 inch tire out back and wanted to upgrade to a something with a little more meat on it so I recently purchased a pair of Nitto NT555 G2 295/40/18 tires, i of course did some research before I made the decision to buy them and I seen numerous Mustangs with that tire out back and it looked really good and it appeared that the tire fit really well with some room to spare, my car is sitting on Eibach lowering springs and is lowered 2 inches in the back, so I’m wondering if anyone out there is running this big of tire in the rear on a lowered car and how’s is fitment, will this tire indeed fit on my 94 Cobra or not, after seeing the 295/40/18 in person I just don’t see how this tire could possibly fit, and how will it look, anybody that could possibly post some pictures I would greatly appreciated it, thanks for reading!!

Don’t you run similar size tires in the back of your car?

For what it’s worth, I have 315/30r18’s on the back of my car but they’re quite short in comparison. Will a 295 fit? All day, depending on wheel offset. It’s the overall height that’s the question with a 2” drop.

It looks giant because of the profile. The second set of numbers determines how much side wall there is, so if you want a bunch of sidewall go with a 40 but if you just want a wider tire get a 295 35 if they make those

Those size tire will fit fine, but do yourself a favor and source out or buy a fender roller. They like $50. Best if you can borrow one. Then get to rolling the lip on your fender. Its a terrible feeling spending all that money on awesome tires and the inner fender lips cuts the tire.

It's the sidewall. Too tall. A 295/35 would be a better fit.
I run a 305/35 on an 18x10

295/35 out back and 265/35 fronts would be the preferred sizes to run.
The sidewall on a 295/40 is just to much
