Probably not a real Saleen for $7500. Also, that's not much information.

Yes there were 94 Saleens but they were the S351 models only equipped with the monster 5.8 and not the dinky little 5.0 (4.9 :tongue3: )

The car you're looking at is most likely a replica. If you post pics I'm pretty sure it would be easy to figure out if its real or not.

If there is no way to access pics, the main things to look for is the deck height on the motor (1" taller on the 351), Recaro seats (standard equipment was cloth, option was leather), the wheels, the Saleen Alcon brakes, the cut and extended Cobra upper intake with the Saleen S351 Plaque on it, the 200mph Saleen gauge overlays, and of course all the correct vinyls and plaques.

You need to look for front bumper number, plaque in front of shifter, engine bay plaque. The bumper number is obviously production number, engine bay plaque has year, last 6 of vin and production number. Inside the car in front of the shifter has the year and production number. These three production numbers have to match.

If it's real and you carfax it, the car will come up as a V6 but don't get freaked out lol they're built on V6 chassis.

Goodluck!

I do remember seeing that it had "GT" badges on the front fenders, I don't remember if it said 5.0 or what. But if your saying its done on a V6 chassis then it shouldn't have gt badges, right?

The guy told me it was a real Saleen owned by a "NASCAR driver but got tired of it and sold it to my son." I got the dudes number, I hope its not real, Im gonna fuck with him. This dude was seriously Creeper McCreeperson

that woukld be a good deal if it was real, and if it's a S351, I'll grab a car hauler and leave tonight... haha,
but in all reality, it's probably a clone, everyone throws the words "saleen" or "roush" or "boss" on any mustang
now-a-days to sell, but like FaykSaleen said, do the research. It's the little stuff that counts. like a little 5.8... haha

Just ask for the vin and call Saleen to verify it. S351s are hard to come by these days. I've seen one for sale in the area in the past two years. The asking price was in the 30k range. I think they made 50 or 51 in 1994. I can't remember off the top of my head.

I could give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they don't know its not a real Saleen. But according to this, its just a standard GT.

The car is fake for sure. There was only 1 94 (If im not mistaken) GT chassis S351 and it was a promotion car that was given away at a radio event. It was red but I can't remember if it was a hard top or convertible..?? But it was red for sure and I HIGHLY doubt that the only GT chassis S351 is gonna sell for 7.5.

I guess if you want to just go ahead and call him. Tell him his car is as fake as one of the members on the forum you're a member of :laughing5:

I also forgot that saleen had his own mold for the 94-95 taillight bezels unlike the 96-98 which were only painted :violent1: , the momo shift knob and the S351 floormats :BangHead:

Been off my game lately :nono:

I dug a little deeper. Prior Salvage title. I can't figure out the date of salvage, but it shows 112xxx miles when the title got corrected to salvage. hmmm....failed to give me that info also.
