FaykSaleen said:Yes there were 94 Saleens but they were the S351 models only equipped with the monster 5.8 and not the dinky little 5.0 (4.9 :tongue3: )
The car you're looking at is most likely a replica. If you post pics I'm pretty sure it would be easy to figure out if its real or not.
If there is no way to access pics, the main things to look for is the deck height on the motor (1" taller on the 351), Recaro seats (standard equipment was cloth, option was leather), the wheels, the Saleen Alcon brakes, the cut and extended Cobra upper intake with the Saleen S351 Plaque on it, the 200mph Saleen gauge overlays, and of course all the correct vinyls and plaques.
You need to look for front bumper number, plaque in front of shifter, engine bay plaque. The bumper number is obviously production number, engine bay plaque has year, last 6 of vin and production number. Inside the car in front of the shifter has the year and production number. These three production numbers have to match.
If it's real and you carfax it, the car will come up as a V6 but don't get freaked out lol they're built on V6 chassis.
Goodluck!
