am I the only one that actually LIKES mustangs?? :dunno:

Lol, I do like them, but man oh man can Ford eff up a wet dream, lol. It totally blows that an LS guy can swap a cam, put on a full exhaust, and throw down 400 rwhp. We swap our exhaust and cams (for twice as much, lol), and are happy to hit 300.

i totally see what your saying but the problem is......people buy the shit out of these effed up Mustangs. So ford is just gonna keep making them "effed up"....know what I mean?

I think the engine Don Bowles is running in his Roush car is a 7.0, larger bore 2V Modular thats making in the 800hp range without a power adder...supposedly its the test engine for the next line of F150/Mustang engines.

I think ford should start making some bigger motors and less complicated. like chevy they are notorious for the 350, they put it in everything and ford is notorioius for the 5.0 because they put it in everything. There is a 48 ci difference between the two and it is in favor of chevy. Why doesn't ford start making some series that is similar to the LS series. Like bring back the 351 and put an aluminum block underneath it. IMO, i think that chevy is leading in engines but ford is leading in selling cars because they are cheaper.

The only reason that the new mustang has been selling good is because it has had no competition. There are basically no new sporty cars with v8's being produced right now. if you don't consider a 4 door family sedan or a station wagon with a hemi in it a sports car ( i don't ) or a supercharged 4 cyl. I mean I'm sure when the new camaro comes out that people will immediately stop buying the new mustangs and flock to the camaros because there is finally another choice. Once ford see's that I'm sure they will see the error in their ways and start boosting power and ci , but until then We'll still see the new mustangs as the most common car on the road. (I sware, it's so annoying, everyone has a mustang now. )

the problem is we DO like mustangs. like them so much that we still buy them even though they are an inferior car compared to its compeditors.

i think ford should step up their game a bit in the v6 department. a lot of people won't like my idea's but here i go. the imports are turning ouy 300+hp v6's. ford has the ability to do so also.

i think if ford were to make 2 v6 models it will let them cover more ground and save budget. haveing the bread and butter cheap cheap v6 mustang ford has turned out since 94, and a v6 that is more powerful AND more effecient would help out a lot. maybe using that sweet duretec v6 they do nothing with. a powerful, yet sparingly equipped "cheap" v6 model will let ford keep the bread and butter running strong and give the v8 more leg room. if ford doesn't sell v6's, they don't sell v8's. a more powerfull v6 will also be a good thing for those who want like the GT the way it is, but don't want to pay v8 prices for it. a strong v6 helps out in those 2 area's. lots of sales, decent performance. cheaper than the current GT's.

this would give Ford more leg room with the base GT model. maybe 375-400hp.

base v6- 250ish hp cheap cheap.
premium v6- 300hp cheap
GT- 375-400hp compedatively priced in its segment.
Cobra/shelbyG500- flagship, expensive, and brutally powerful.

having high performance low cost 6cylinder counter parts have been extremely successfull down under in Aussie. As much as Ford denies it, the American public have much in commen with the Aussie's in our taste for performance cars.

Ford won't do that, because what 08 GT owner wants to lose to an 09 v6?

I love Mustangs, just not the new Mustang. It could have been tons better than it actually turned out being because Ford cheaped out on a lot of things while designing and making it. The Camaro was discontinued back in '02 and soon to be 6 years later the Mustang GT still isn't making the horsepower the Z28 was. I think the Mustang will continue to sell well because a lot of people do like it and its more than likely going to be priced cheaper than all its competitors, which is a big part of why it did so well before against the Fbody.

i like mustangs but not since 05...i dont care for the change..im totally pissed at the lack of cubes ford offers in the mustang....and im pissed they dumped svt for the queer shelby :lame: ford is going downhill in my eyes....

i did read that the 05 -up are a throwback to the 65-67 cars and the new 09's will be a repesentation of the 68-70 cars so hopefully they do go with the theme...in those years they put BIG motors in so i hope they continue with the theme...keep it like the originals the best they can...

mag. editors and everyone is speculating further into the future..if this retro theme is going on...whats next?? 71-73 cars :-\ or 74-78 mustang 2's :puke: ...they said how do you make the next production a totally new model after converting back to a throwback car...makes sense and i hope they dont bring back retro mustang 2's haha but really we got nothing next 70 was the cut-off haha

speaking of a 2009 mustang, look what ford has comin out next year.

why not they only have like 36 models of mustang as it is... :hammer:

i heard the engine sizes for the 09 are 5.8, 6.2 and 7.0 ...maybe the larger ones will be speciallty ones shelby or whatever but maybe the 5.8 could make it to the gt...it would be nice to be in the same catagory as the camaro because i dont think the largest motor the camaro will use will be a 5.0....

on a side note are they still making gto's ?? wouldn't that be in the mustang catagory 2 door v8??

I've always thought all the mustang models were kinda pointless. Why not combine all that money and research into one car?

im sick of all the variants...i say gt and bring back svt DONE!!!!

keeping the V6 is alright cause that's what keeps the model alive. But I agree 200% about bringing back SVT!! and stay away from all these other variants. They need to focus on making the GT an ass kicker!

right! that's what I've always thought they should do. They should bring back the cobra even if they don't bring back SVT. Have the 6-er, GT and the Cobra. (period)....except keep the GT500
