it is good but you would need the rotating assembly from a 4.2L F-150 or a stroker kit.

since you are on "SN95forums" i am going to assume you have a 94-98 V6 with the singleport heads. if you do, it would be a good opportunity to switch to the splitport heads and intakes from a 99-04 v6 mustang.

this is a pretty vague explanation. so im sure youll have more questions so just ask. there isnt too much traffic in the v6 section on here.

yes. there will be some modifications to do to the fuel system. also, make sure you get a lower intake manifold from a 99-00 car without IMRC's. if you get one with them, you will have to get the deleted

yup that is correct. The best thing to do is to go to a pull apart jy and take the whole top half of the motor off. You will also need to get a fuel pump for a non return style system.

they changed to returnless system in 98, thats why we can use the 310lph SVT focus fuel pump while 94-97 have to use the Walbro 255lph pump

i know. i have a walbro 255 in my car, but if he wants to do a split port swap then he will also need the rail. Then convert his fuel system to returnless. Then just pick up a 310 svt pump

he has a 98 so he doesnt need to convert to a returnless system since he already has one. he can already pick up a 310 svt pump. oh and he needs the rail like you said.

dont want to be a dick but not all 98s got the returnless fuel systems. my buddy has a 98 and he has a return system. We are building him a 4.2 motor with ported heads, cam, forged bottom end! He is goin with a split port head setup so we have to convert his to returnless. The E150 fuel rails fit the split port head and are return style, however the entry and exit of the rail is in a different spot than the mustang and some new fuel lines need to be run to the drivers side.

A V8 swap, or better, selling your car and buying a V8 optioned car, is going to be more cost effective and fruitful in the end.

all 98s had a return fuel system. they changed the design of the bucket in 98 to what they used in the 99+ cars which is why we can use the focus pump. Either pump is fine, and when you do the splitport swap you need to wire in the injector connectors from a 99+ car so you can run splitport injectors. Splitport swap is cake, made a huge difference when i did mine.
