4.6 motor in 95 gt????

need to find a motor for my 95 gt Camaro Mustang Challenge racecar. How difficult is it to do this swap?

you would need to swap the k member, the computer, the ignition, the wiring harness and i'm sure there is a few other things i'm forgetting

lets put it this way. it can be done but why on earth would you want to? what is the problem with the engine you have now and what 4.6 are thinking of putting in?

Its a complete different animal, just to make it easier if i were you ill go carb.

I'd stick with the 5.0 for a number of reasons, the biggest being that you already have it in your car. Parts are everywhere and dirt cheap, they're simple and easy to work on, and yea, you have one.

ok definitely should have explained. car does not have a motor in it right now. i need to find one.....i'm looking into trying to find a 302 motor for it....anyone know where i can find a decent one? it's going to be a somewhat stock motor in this car. the race class it's for only allows a few modifications. i think the last motor the guy had in this particular car was making around 290hp and around the same #'s in torque.

Salvage yards are a REALLY good place to start... since you get all your brackets and various parts with the engine...

you shouldn't have a problem finding a 5.0 on craigslist. they are a die a dozen. Also try local mustang forums, there are always a couple mustang packrats around that have 5 or 6 of everything you can think of..
