They need to come up with a good powerplant....

I dont see whats wrong with the 4v 5.4...things bad ass

Just for the record, the 5.0 that is in the aussi falcon makes 220 kw which is about 295 hp....so, Unless they step it up a notch it would be worthless...the current 4.6 3v makes that.

ford needs to grow a pair and put in the rumored 400hp 6.2L V8 in the 2011 mustang like car and driver said, that would be badass, especially with cylinder deactivation :thumb:

5.0 would be cool... a whole new generation could be raised on 5.0 Mustangs.

Ford has to make its mind up, we've been hearing about scrapping V8s altogether (Eco Boost TT V6- please God NO!!!), the 5.0, the 6.2... what will be the chosen powerplant?

Unfortunately, Ford won't be making any pushrod motors anytime soon. One more reason not to buy a Ford.

I will never get the logic of why Ford does what they do. Like the convertible focus not being available here or the v-6 focus. I guess they have there reasons :dunno:

We hear about scrapping V8's every ten years, when you're older you'll understand, lol.

I've seen the motors, there are no pushrods, the eco boost is an awesome motor, it'll wipe the floor with any volume motor that came before it from Ford, it's a good time to be a car guy, trust me.

until i see ford use a useful motor in there vehicles i wont praise it ....ford really sucks lately they can take there eco-boost and cram it...i dont see any newer ford purchases in my future if ford wants to be competative then the 4v 4.6 should be the standard base gt engine then offer something better then that ...and also they can use the eco-boost as a option

they need to get back in the game.. ford was among the top in the muscle car era, the new age muscle car era has already begun and we are far behind. they need to put the dang 6.2 in and give us some power to keep up with gm cars. yeah they gave us the Ford GT but thats pretty impractical at $150,000+. :nonono:

and the shelby's.. 'cept your going to spend close to what you would spend on a z06.

your right about not being competitive money wise...gm and mopars (current muscle) you get way more bang for the buck standard!!! i guess i need a ford gt to be competitive with gm's standard camaro... how gay is that!

According to the rumors, Ford will definitely have increase the output of the Stang. Motor Trend speculates that a 400 hp V-8 (L76 or LS3) and a 300 hp V-6 might power the next Camaro. Bob Lutz claimed that Camaro pricing will shadow Mustang pricing. If that's the case then the Stang's value in the marketplace will drop even more. And the Camaro is supposed to have a multilink rear suspension.

ehhhh, Ford has gone all modular so putting a 5.0 in it is a crock, they keep screwing around with small engines when they have the 5.4 and even bigger sizes available to work with. And with the overwheming success of the factory supercharged cars why not do a blown version of a 6.x :) :)

oh and lets not forget about the fuel crisis .......thats going to play a part in this crap sooner or later.

it's an inbetween for the 5.4 and the 4.6 , a 5.0 ohc they think it'll have the top end of the 4.6 and the low end of the 5.4 from what i've heard.
