He pretty much nailed the big stuff. rotating weight will help you a lot. if I recall correctly, for every pound in rotating weight (wheels, rotors, etc.) it's like 4 pounds. Then most say you can shave a tenth with 100 pounds.

So, take that into account.

I know you want a light car, but I would still add in subframe connectors being that it is a vert, and some of the weight reduction you do may take away some of the rigidity.

If you are confident in your skills, gut the trunk, or make a pin on out of fiber glass or carbon fiber.

Take the "Caution 25 pounds" weight out. It's bolted on your right front inner frame rails.

Caution - it really weighs 25 pounds and if you drop it on your dome it's gonna hurt.

Make sure you get full-length subframes. I recommend Maximum Motorsports.

Paul.

Take out all the automatic top crap. completely strip the interior including the dash, doors, carpet and just have a seat, steering wheel, and a few gauges. You don't need all that other crap if you want the fastest car

Knee deep in the water some where
As said above! Pin on hood and trunk, backseat delete, passenger seat, and everything in the trunk. Aluminum heads and bumper supports. If you really want to shed some weight gut the doors. Draglites,Prostars etc...The only question is do you want a race car or do want a street car?

FWIW, gutting a car to save weight isn't really worth it IMHO. Especially taking out stuff like the convertible top motor and rams. That's just dumb. Is a couple tenths at the track worth having a rattling tin can piece of crap mustang with no creature comforts? Nope. Not to me anyway.

I'm putting 200 pounds of sound deadener BACK IN my notch. Yes, 200 pounds.

Do the weight reduction where you get a benefit other than just reduced weight. e.g. Tubular K-member and a-arms, different rear suspension stuff, lighter seats, and so on.

The few pounds that you loose from removing some of this stuff.. Is not worth the lost of confort and will not make much diffrence.....

There's plenty of stuff you can remove but it's not going to be a daily driver anymore.

Is this 25lb weight on all sn95 or only verts?
