94GT Upper radiator hose tight at normal op temp

Anyone know if it is normal for the upper radiator hose to be tight on a 94 gt when the engine is at operating temp. I've burped the coolant system several times and the hose is soft until I screw the radiator cap on. After a short drive the upper hose is too tight to squeeze with regular hand pressure. I just fixed a blown head gasket and the upper hose being tight was one of the early symptons along with overheating. so far the car runs cool but that hose keeps getting tight. Is this normal for the 94 GTs?

Your cooling system will pressurize to 13-16 PSI....

so yes, its normal
