You just need practice and a better track experience. No big deal.

Try to find a day when you can make lots of passes. The first time I raced my black car, I made 13 passes in three hours. LOL That will help you dial in the launch, which is really the most important part.

Once you have that down, you work on your shift points, and do the whole ice on the intake thing and whatnot.

The track that day treated us pretty poorly. Though they were pretty busy so when we actually did get to make a pass they rushed everyone through. After my first pass, I waited almost 3 hours until the next one.

I've had days like that. That's unfortunate. Hopefully you'll have better luck next time.

Aaron, the technique that I've found to work the best is one that Evan smith from MM&FF always recommends for more or less stock mustangs (I realize that your car has a PI 4.6 in it, but it is basically a stock engine, i.e. no cams, head work, special intakes, power adders, etc...).

Go around the water, and just drop the clutch and let the tires spin for a second or two to clean them off. Then stage up and hold the car at about 2500 rpm. when the lights drop, drop the clutch, but keep your foot in the same spot. When the car starts to move forward, gradually (over a second or two) feed in more power (this part takes practice to keep the car from bogging/spinning). Then just keep banging gears with the throttle matted and you should run some 14's real easy.

That's what's always worked best for me.

thats how i do it on street tires, i was running high 12's in my z28 like that, but if i'm on slicks/drag radials, its 5500 drop and bang each gear :hammer:
