Hey all. My dad recently bought a 97 mustang v6 project car and he has a minor problem. The car was hit in the front setting the airbags off, so he bought a used airbag and module and also used sensors for the front bumper from a different vehicle. After installing everything, the light still comes on and for the first 1-2 minutes it flashes until eventually staying on solid. Does anyone have any ideas how he might be able to fix the problem without spending a ridiculous amount of cash for a new module??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This happened to my Cobra. While the bags never blew, some wires got pinched and seperated. After I spliced them and started driving it again I had the same symptoms that you have. I just lived with it until it stopped 4 months later! Interestingly, it went off at the same time I threw a CEL code. Maybe you should disconnect some stuff and try to throw a code?? Lmao

My 94 GT did the same thing. I just dealt with it, but I've been told the computer has to be reset. I dunno....

I guess he checked into a place that re-programs the airbag module, apparently separate from the main computer, who told him since the light is flashing and not solid, it might not work and there could be some other issue. Well, he didn't really seem to be of much help in explaining the possible other issues, so we're kind of stuck.

The clock spring can go bad in the steering column. Can he turn his wheel and hear a noise kinda like a click click and have play in it. That would be the Rag Joint. Mine is bad and has caused my Air bag light to be on since i got the car and while my friend had it also. The clock spring could also be a part in question.

Guess i never thought of that. I'll have to ask him if about the steering. Could definately be a possibility though. Thanks for the replies.
