Hi all. After messing about with a couple FWD cars in rallycross, I decided that i wanted a RWD car for my stage rally car, and settled upon the 94-95 Mustangs for simplicity and parts availability. Im still researching and saving to pick one up, but im most likely going to be looking for a 94-95 GT for simplicity and lack of computer controlled stuff that i wont need. The basic plan for converting it to a rally car is caging the shell, safety gear like seats and harnesses, a small 1" or so lift, and some form of HD shocks or coilovers to withstand the abuse of gravel roads at 80MPH. if anybody has any tips or suggestions im all ears, id like to be plenty informed when im making the purchase and build so i dont run into problems in the middle of the woods.

This will be a first that I've personally heard of. I do love some rally racing so I'll be tuned in for this!!!!!

Theres two that i know of, one that ran in SCCA ProRally, and one team in Finland. the Finland team is still running theirs, but the one in ProRally got sold off and dissapeared when the SCCA abandoned the rally scene.

Thanks! and tell him to do it! rally is completely different from any other motorsport, and its a real blast! if he dosent want to go balls deep right off the bat, im willing to bet theres some SCCA Rallycross events nearby he can get his feet wet with and go from there

Thanks! and ill do my best with the pictures, sometimes i forget to take them when im covered in grease and fluids. the car will have to be stripped all the way to a bare body shell for the cage, and id like to fully document the process for people after me that want to rally thier mustang.
