Sup fellas. Does anybody know anything about the automatic shift indicator needle. I think i can just barely see mine stuck up above the park positon. Is this repairable? There is supposed to be an orange needle to indicate which gear you are in right?

Yes, sometimes it breaks and doesnt move. Remove the shifter bezel and you can see the piece Im talking about. I dont think you can repair it but maybe something can be done. Its like a thin piece of plastic that slides back and forth.

Sup fellow Floridian? How bout this Florida spring? Its supposed to be 90 today. Anyways, So i took mine apart for the hell of it. Somehow mine was missing the entire center center piece that takes up the gap that the shifter shaft moves through. If you had all the pieces i suppose one could fix it. But i suspect the previous owner of mine took out all the broken pieces and threw them away long ago. All that was left in there was the orange tab. So instead i ordered a brand new one from cj's. For 46$ shipped, Im all about that life as the kids say. I will have to move my OD switch because they only have them for 97 and up which had their od switches elsewhere instead of right next to the shifter like my 96.

Holy hell is it hot lol. This morning it was nice out but its getting a little warm out now lol.

Yea that piece breaks a lot. It broke in my 98 v6 and left a nice hole to see right through the shifter thing. I didnt even know they still made that piece and Im really surprised how cheap that is. Where is the o/d cancel button on the 96's?

The 96 has the od switch right next to the shifter on the shifter indicator. its just an oddly placed and shaped little black button, no markings or anything. Oh well, ill move it to somewhere and swap to a cooler switch even though i never use it. I was surprised you can still get them too. Made by Ford no less.
Unfortunately CJs Pony Parts is pretty shady and I ordered from ebay instead for $5 less. CJs sent me an invoice with no balance. Just $0.00. I suspected they did not actually have the part in stock but never bothered to mention it. So I checked out some reviews and lo and behold I was right; tons of reviews going back to 2006 that say just that. When I called he said THEY wouldnt even get the part until the end of the week. Pretty shady of them not mention that they dont have them in stock because they dont want you to go spend your money with someone who does, and then let you sit around for two weeks until you figure that out. I canceled the order. Found one cheaper and quicker anyway.....http://www.ebay.com/itm/201794516868

Cj's has always been horrible about that. I refuse to give them business for that exact reason.

You could always get a 97+ shifter and swap that in so the button will be in a better spot and look stock.

Ive never really bought anything from cjpp except for something small, which I forget what it was. I didnt care for them but it was the only place that had whatever I bought if Im not mistaken. Usually Id go through American Muscle or LMR. And I dont think the shipping was free either.

I like that idea actually. Like I said i dont really have a use for it but it does look all cool and fighterjet-ish on the shifter knob lol. I love buttons and switches.

Plus I like functionality and options. One of my main goals before I get into any hotrodding or engine swaps for my 96 is to restore 100% of its functionality. switches, lights, ashtry doors, outlet doors ect. Probably add a bit along the way too.

It definitely does look better than the 94-96 shifter handle Ill give you that.

Luckily everything for sn95s are cheap and plentiful. I need a few parts for my 07 gt and theyre not nearly as cheap as the good old sn parts... I have a radio bezel sitting around if thats a part you need.

If its a double din radio bezel I would indeed be interested. After i finish putting my freshly painted interior together then in-dash gps will be next. I actually found a double din bezel in the junkyard in excellent condition but on the walk over to the booth to pay for it i dropped it and it cracked. Thats after I had to cut thru a convertable top and shimmy down thru a pile of cars to get it.....my profanities echoed throughout the yard for sure smh
