Well since i changed my intakes to a track heat from the OEM Cobra intake, i got on it for the first time and i noticed a nice cloud of smoke, i know its oil for sure cause you can smell it. I never had this before with the supercharger. I reused the pcv valve that came on my intake from the guy i bought it from, it looked brand new and mine was looking nasty. So im wondering if the PCV being bad will cause this. also i was reading up on the oil separator kits and ive heard the DIY ones arent as effective and can cause further damage possibly. Anyone got any insight? ive searched here but a lot of the tech stuff doesnt exist anymore since the server change. thanks

It's not really uncommon. I run breathers on both VC's as well as eliminated my pcv. Mine builds up far too much crankcase pressure at times and would blow the pcv out. I run my car this way w/o an issues. Some guys have luck running a pcv from an svo (I think).

If your using a stock PCV with a forced induction your pressurizing the crank case. You need to install a check valve or get a turbo coup PCV better yet run breathers or set up an EVAC system.

Did you only get smoke upon first acceleration? Or was it constant?

No its only under boost, i can run all day long but the second i get into the boost it starts burning oil. I really need to get a turbocoupe PCV i just never have the time to make it to the dealer to order one.

If you know you need it and you have a problem then why not fix it?

Your putting boost in the crank case and pushing oil past the rings and valve seals.

I forgot about this. This seems like a better way to go. that way under boost you still have a way for the pressure to get out of the crank case. http://sbftech.com/index.php/topic,15092.0.html

Delete the PCV Valve, run a little breather instead and run breather from you valve covers. The 100% best thing to do is run lines from you valve covers to a catch can to catch the excess oil instead of having to clean the folter all the tim and having oil come out of them.
