blown head gaskets....

im curious to know how many of you would go back to the previous owner of your car, if either or both of the head gaskets went, within a couple months of having the car.

im only sayin, cuz i may know someone who sold a car knowing it had 2 bad (not blown) head gaskets, and he's telling me he's gonna play the negligent card if the buyer comes back to him about the head gaskets. im just hoping it doesnt come back to bite him in the ass, to where he has to pay for the damage. especially when, at that point, he would have been better off probably just keeping the car.

People that knowingly sell anything without disclosing significant problems are unethical bastards.

People that buy used cars private party who don't do their homework and think they can hold the seller responsible are kidding themselves.

If they went on the way home then yeah there's an issue, but after a couple of months? I'd tell you to find the nearest bridge and well you know the rest.
if the guy posted an ad saying that it had XX internal parts in it and then it didn't you'd have a case but to prove someone knew it had "bad" gaskets is about impossible.

when i say a couple months, i dont mean like 5-6mo, more like 1-2, if not a few weeks. im just expecting the owner to come back and say "the first and only time i floored it, they went". and in the owner's defense, id believe it.

x2. The guy i bought my car from failed to mention that the car had a bent subframe, and i suspect that it was t-boned
and then fixed without reporting it... aka sketchy.

well theres nothing he can do about it since he will be buying the car as is.... if he tried to sue then they will ask y are you flooring it??? which in turn means that you are driving wreckless which is illegal... unless it happened at the track just a few weeks after the purchase happened and he can prove it happened at the track... even then it wont be his problem....
