Well Im thinking about running boost. With my current setup, how much can I run before I go kablam? Im thinking about a Vortech V1, or a V3. Maybe if I wait long enough a VTS....

each block is different but most people get away with about 10 lbs of boost again goes to your supporting mods and how well your tune is...

boost is a measure of restriction. you have better heads/cam/intake so you'll flow more which will be less boost.

basically start out small and go from there.

most of it has to do with your tune though, i've seen guys running 15 lbs on stock blocks (danger will robinson!)

but usually somewhere between 10-14 is going to be your safe area on a good tune

With your current mods, all you will need is a Si-trim or S-trim, 60lb injectors, a walboro in-tank pump, and a power pipe. The car will put down between 450-500rwhp with the stock pulley. No need to increase the boost. Just make sure you get a chip burnt with a good dyno tune and you'll be set to have some fun. You will be at the upper limits of your block at this point so keep the rpms down and I would recommend a aftermarket ignition box with a rev limiter to help keep the setup safe.

Hyper piston's are ok for boost but you have to keep the heat down, they will shatter before they melt. The A/F ratio is very imiportant also the amount of fuel you are getting. a 255LPH Pump is a must along with some #42-#60LB injectors depending on how much boost you plan on running. Also would not hurt to run a Kenne Bell Boost A Pump for some added insurance.
