Broke thermostat housing!

Hey so my cars been over heating lately and I decided to change the thermostat. Well I did it but in the process I tightened it to hard and broke that cheap metal. I went to buy a new one. ABC wanted $112. Called Oreillys they had one for $12. No brainer. Replaced it but bc it was a nock off the fitment wasnt perfect but it worked. That little rubber tube that is on it that goes down to the water pump. it was really close and hard to get that hose on. BUT like I said it worked.

THEN I looked at my fan and the plug that goes in to it came un done. O well I guess now i know the thermostat is good. LOL

You did what i did. The only one i found to be a quick replacement was at Advance and it was chrome.

those bolts do have a set torque that should be followed, torque everything properly and you should never have an issue

I broke mine with a 1/4 drive with my fingers on the neck of it. I was barely putting any torque on it whatsoever.

Ya. Well I can say I touqued the hell out of it so it was my fualt. I dint read the book. But hey now i know. And also Advanced and Autozone both said thats a Dealer item here in Shreveport LA. But the one I picked up was a polished color so its all good now

Yeah, the Mr. Gasket chrome water neck for 302's and 351's from Advanced works fine. It's like 13$ or so. No way i'd pay 100+ for a water neck. You'll be fine with what you got bro.
