I cant run a carb but I guess i could go find a 302 throw it on my engine stand and go from there and i'll need an 8.8
just seems like a lot less of a headache to buy another car

Go with a GT or Cobra. Like Naptown said, it's not just dropping a motor in and going.

Also line out some goals so you know EXACTLY what you want and find out what is reasonable pricewise

I know what all i have to do to swap it and I know i'm capable of doing it but for the price it would be smarter just to buy a
car thats already a v8

.I would buy a 5.0 that needs some mechanical work or has a significant amount of miles and rebuild the engine.

Man, screw buying a car that needs work out of the gate. That's never a really good idea because if you run out of money, you're screwed on having a car to drive.

Sell your car and buy a V8. It's a lot simpler and you'll have something to drive. Upgrading V6s is cool in a way, but not worth it when SN95 V8s are so cheap.

If you want a car you can truely say you've built then do the swap. If you just want the v8 sell yours and buy one. As its been said sn95 gts can be found dirt cheap in good condition

i did alot of bolt ons to my v6 when i first got it and still in college. spent prolly 2 years and around 5 grand on parts. in the end my oil pump went out and i ended up buying a cobra motor anyway. so my vote goes to get the v8!

Get a Mustang GT you can pick one up for 3-4 grand and then you'll have a better platform to work on. I like my sixxer just because its my first car if I had the chance to get a GT I wouldnt hesitate.

Thats dependent on how you drive. I can get 18mpg if i drive slow...na, id rather go fast. Doesnt suprise me that the V6s dont have good mileage. It seems like ford didn't care at all about those engines.

Is your CEL on? I'm getting terrible milage but it's cause my O2s are always saying it's running lean.

Nope. I have a fully built motor. Not tuned for mileage either so 18 is good
