Greetings from sunny England.I am going to view a 95 5.0GT auto convertible this week end.It has done 70,000 miles and has had an engine and transmission service .The seller says runs well etc but the temp gauge has not worked in the 2 years he has owned it.Is there any specific things i should look for as this will be my first mustang? Regards Simon

Welcome Simon
The 5.0 is a pretty sturdy engine as long as they're not beat on to badly. I have 190,000+miles on the stock motor and it still runs strong.
The distributor is a common issue and if it hasn't been replaced yet it will not be long. A remanned distributor or the pip inside it is easily avialable in the states, don't know about England.

There are 2 temp sensors for the water temp. 1 is for the computer and the other only goes to the guage.
