You just have to know your shift points and be exact or it will grind pretty bad. Truck drivers only use the clutch when taking off in first gear or reverse. But big truck transmissions are not synchronized like car transmissions are. They have sliding clutches instead of synchronizers.I used to be able to shift without the clutch in the VW Rabbit I used to have. I have tried it in my Cobra, I could get out of gear no problem, but getting back in is. But you have to rev it pretty high to get it out of gear.</blockquote>
