Message: <blockquote data-quote="reivaxtorres" data-source="post: 189895" data-attributes="member: 8890">yes! good to know i wasnt going crazy. thats the main difference ive heard of between the cobra calipers over the years, along with the newer versions being lighter than the 96/98 versions (not too sure on this one). ive heard that the 96-98 calipers are "twin" piston, the 99/01 calipers are larger "twin piston", and the 03/04 calipers are "dual" (different sized pistons) calipers. still trying to dig up those articles thoyeah, they are different, but they are still better than your stock ones, whichever route you go. dont waste your money on getting the 11.65" rear conversion (compared to the stock 10.5"). unless you do a lot of road racing, its not needed and all it does is give you better looks. the rear calipers are the same thoughout the years, from 94-04, on ALL mustangs, whether it be v6, GT, Cobra, Mach1, or Bullitt. in the later years(dont know when it started), they went to an aluminum caliper (or so it looks) thats lighter than the iron/steel calipers they originally used. the difference between the 10.5" set up and the 11.65" set up is the bracket that bolts on to the axle which is were the caliper bolts onto. for the 11.65" kits, this bracket is bigger to support the larger rotor. the caliper bracket (where the caliper slides) is also different, but the GT ones can be used with some very minor modificationsstill looking to find those articles. had some good tech ones that i lost when my motherboard fried on my previous laptop, so its been hard coming by the same info i once had.</blockquote>
