Question, I see cobra brake kits being sold all over the internet for hundreds of dollars. If you were to just buy the calipers, rotors and brake pads yourself couldn't you put together your own kit for much less?? Or is there other parts you need to do the conversion that I don't know about?

you also need the caliper brackets and brake hoses. The kits are not even expensive. i think they are like 500-600

Stangsuspension has the complete Mach 1 kit (which is the same stuff as the cobra) for $359 with calipers, anchors, pads, rotors, and braided lines. You could probably piece something together for cheaper if you looked around, but it's hard to beat the ease of such a cheap and complete kit.

That does sound like a really good deal. I wonder if they would do the kit without the rotors, I'd really like to get some zinc plated cross drilled rotors instead.

Nuff said. and why do you want cross drilled. Unless you buy some real expencive ones they will probibly crack and warp very easy. From what you describe i bet your looking at ebays rotors also. POS
