cobra heads?

i am about to get some gt40 heads off of a 93 cobra! what is the differance in those heads and ones off of a explorer? i will be running a e cam is that an upgrade from a stock cam on a 93 cobra?

The GT40P heads themselves are supposed to be better than the regular GT40 heads to begin with. Worth some HP, since they flow better than the regular GT40 heads.

When you use the GT40P heads, you will have to get a different set of headers to make up for the port difference.

Both heads are cast iron. If you are on a budget, then nothing wrong with going to these heads. If you can save up , I would go with a set of aluminum heads.

actually the main difference between the gt40 and gt40p head is the location of the sparkplug. the gt40 sparkplug is angled like the normal windsor head and the gt40p head the plug pointing out almost straight. that is why regular headers technically will not work. i had gt40p heads on my 68 torino with regular longtubes and it fit ok. i never burned up anywires but i used 90degree boots and have a special wrench to get the plugs out. i believe the difference in flow between the gt40 and gt40p head is minimal. i would stick with the regular head so you can use your regular headers.

i know the differance from gt40 and gt40p heads, what i want to know if the roller rockers that come on 93 cobra heads are a good thing or should i change them? and i have a e cam should i bump it up another level or is that already enough of an upgrade from a stock cobra cam?

i could be mistaken but i think that the 93 cobra came factory with 1.6 roller rockers. if that is the case then i would
stick with that. Any bigger and you could run into piston clearances.... etc.
