Ok I am to the point of taking this car and driving it off a cliff I never can get a break, especially when my funds aren't the best. So I own a 1995 Mustang GT and this car has been a problem since having it, but to the main concern: Ever since winter came my car has basically shot craps I don't know what to do anymore! Ever since having the car when I start it, it starts weak no purring engine here, I turn the key for 5-10 seconds it catches but immediately tries to die(this gets the worst in the winter time), also if it sits for any time and you start driving in 1st gear it feels like I shifted in 3rd gear its struggling then takes a few secs and the rpms will go up to normal after the exhausts pop/backfire ONLY 2-3 times. Also its like a fucking possessed piece of shit its always revving itself up or idling like I have a badass cam when Im running a stock one, but returns to normal after driving it a little bit. I get all motor squeaks during the winter as well, get questions like oh is that supercharged, and I reply with no its fucked up moron! I tried checking for vac leaks couldn't find any, I got a tune-up replaced air filters all that shit, no luck. I honestly don't know what else to do but trade this car in (although I don't want to struggle with payments), so if you could please help me if you ever experienced any of these problems that would be awesome! PS: My car does have a vac leak code, and an 02 code, but I have spent the past 3 days with a stethoscope trying to find this leak and no luck.

Thanks!

I'm not sure as it never gets cold enough here to matter, but is your battery rated for enough cold cranking power or whatever? I know that make batteries they say something about cold cranking so that might be something? Iunno. and for the other stuff look in 5.0 part of the forums at the other idle problem thread and see if any of that fixes it.

try the evap canister and the o2 issue can be relevant to some of these problems especially cold if you have heated 02 sensors.

obviously you need to get the vac leak fixed first. try swaping the o2's then reset the codes and see if the o2 code moves to the other side, that will tell you if that o2 is really bad. also clean the maf. do these things and get back to us for more help

the whistle sounds like an idler pulley to me...my car used to idle surge all the time and never could find the problem, cleaned maf and tps and still did...i got a new distributor ad problem was fixed!

when starting your car let the fuel pump click on before turning it over (this helps)

and as for the rough starts (seems like taking off in first gear)
just let your car warm up, its because the weather is bad not because of your car.
